[glow=blue,2,300]Do you think that book seven will be the last book of the Harry Potter series? I personally dont think that it will even though JKR said her self that she would discontinue the series after the seventh book. But why, i ask you would she mention things like what Harry is interested in doing as a career after hogwarts? Why would they go through the interviews and the whole shabeale of how Professor Mcgonagal is going to help him achieve his goal to become an Auror? Would JKR just stop the whole series at book seven and leave millions of fans disappointed because she is unwilling to carry a series that is so moving to some people that it actually makes them cry? I believe not and think that what she said is a flasehood and will carry the series futher into Harrys career![/glow]

Even as to how i don't want her to, i think that she will end the series after book seven . Because why wouldn't she just say that she was going to make more books?

I reckon there is a pretty good chance she will end the series after book 7. As much as I love the books I reckon if she does continue it could ruin it and just become too cheesy. I read somewhere that there was talk of doing a series about Lily and Jame's life @ Hogwarts...

I don't think that JKR would tell us if she was planning on writing more Harry Potter books past book 7 because the only way there could be a book 8 is if Harry survives book 7, which is something she doesn't want to give away yet. Now she could write more reference material like "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Qudditch Through the Ages." She won't write an 8th Harry Potter book or a prequel about Lily and James because: 1- She said we'll know everything we need to about Lily and the Marauders by the time book 7 is over 2- She said in an interview somewhere that the last chapter of book 7 is supposed to be an epilogue telling us what happens to the surviving characters. She'll have no need to write anything else about them. 3- Quoted from her website: As much as I would love an 8th book, I really don't think it's going to happen.

As much as i would love an 8th book, I doubt that it'll happen i think it would ruin the end since after all, the Harry Potter series are about Harry's life at Hogwarts, his troubles, overcoming them, and surviving...and by the end of the 7th book all of these things will be adressed. It'll be complete. Also, to be realistic, it's a children's book, and after hogwarts, Harry won't really be a 'child' anymore...and I think the reason Harry Potter is so popular is that we can relate to the books in some way...after Harry grows up, he'll be kind of not within our 'age group' any more and we'll lose the ability to relate to him. One last thing, if there is an 8th book, that means that Harry has won and there is no Voldemort for he is dead or defeated...or what ever happens to voldemort in the end. What fun would be in a book where the main conflict is gone...it just wouldn't be as interesting anymore.

According to JKRowling.com she said that if she makes an 8th book it might be backround info that she was not able to add to the books. I will add a direct quote later when I find it again!

[glow=red,2,300]If she stops the series, I know she going to recieve so much fanmail asking to contine it. Even if half her fans write she'll still have millions and millions of letters, both electronic and post.[/glow]

Personally, I think JKR will be true to her word, and end the series after Book 7. And, what's more, you'd prefer that she do so. Think about it -- would you rather have a solid series of books with a strong beginning, intriguing plot, and climactic conclusion, or a series that continues on and on with continually changing characters and outlandish situations? Given the choice, to protect the series, we need it to have a good ending.
